St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Whitby acknowledges we are situated on the lands of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, a branch of the great Anishinaabeg Nation. These lands are covered under the Williams Treaties and remain home to a number of indigenous Nations who call Turtle Island home. We have a difficult shared history on which to reflect. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends, it does not have to define our future. St. Andrew’s, along with its members, partners and volunteers are committed to listening, learning and striving to work as allies with our indigenous brothers and sisters.
